Texas Tornado News Release

The Texas Tornado have acquired forward C.J. Reuschlein from the Aberdeen Wings in exchange for a 2013 tender and a pick in the 2013 NAHL Entry Draft. Reuschlein, who will turn 19 on August 21st, was tendered by the Tornado before the 2011-2012 season and played in 38 games for the team before being dealt to Aberdeen along with goaltender Reid Mimmack for current Tornado netminder Hunter Leisner in January.

"We're thrilled to be able to add C.J. to this year's team," Tornado head coach and general manager Tony Curtale said. "We never wanted to give him up in the first place, but we had to make a tough decision in order to address our goaltending situation. I'm confident he'll be a key contributor on this year's squad."

Last season was Reuschlein's first in the NAHL, whose 6'2" frame helped him to a very solid rookie season. The Linden, Mich. native combined to play 58 games between the Tornado and Wings, scoring 17 goals and 24 assists while amassing 67 PIMs. He had a plus/minus rating of -9, but was a +3 during his tenure with the Tornado.

Reuschlein, along with the rest of the team, reports to Frisco on Saturday with next Monday marking the beginning of training camp. Camp will conclude with the annual Black & Gold Game on Saturday, August 25th at 4:00 p.m. at the Ice at Stonebriar. The Tornado will play their only exhibition games of the season on September 7th and 8th at Dr Pepper Arena, both against The University of Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. They will then travel to Blaine, Minn. for four games at the Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase before returning to Frisco for the home opener against Wichita Falls on September 29th.
