Tom Chichester reports from Mongolia

June 6, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Mongolia. "Today is Monday, approximately 5pm Beijing time. Everyone except myself, Carol and two of the players have headed back to the US. We will be leaving here Wednesday and will be back home approximately 7pm Wednesday.

The last few days have been extremely hectic; very full schedules with little or no time available to get out messages (and we experienced some email problems too). There are an enormous amount of photos available. Stephanie Roach (Kentucky Colonels owner), Nadmid (trip host), his photographers and I will be providing many that we can post on the website shortly.

The ABA won all three games; took home alla three magnificent trophies. Every game was played in front of a full house with some unbelievably excited fans who just love the game of basketball and loved our ABA players and game.

Even though the final scores of each game may show that there may not have been good quality, exciting games, nothing could be further from the truth. Each game was full of very competitive play with exciting plays throughout the contest, from tip off to the final second! Very passionate, hard played games played by all of the players for the fans to enjoy and boy did they enjoy it! A great trip, a great success for Mongolia basketball and the ABA. I will fill you in more detail upon my arrival home."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
