December 12, 2010 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Chicago Riot News Release
CHICAGO (Dec. 12, 2010) -- The Chicago Riot of the Major Indoor Soccer League announces that today's game (6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12) against the Missouri Comets has been postponed because of inclement weather conditions. Missouri, which played at Baltimore on Saturday, could not fly into O'Hare International Airport to make the trip to the match at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park, Ill.
The rescheduled date of the game will be announced later in the week. Riot season ticket holders or anyone who purchased a ticket for Sunday night's game can redeem for any other Riot home game during the remainder of the 2010-2011 MISL season.
The team also will honor recently retired Chicago Fire (Major League Soccer) defender C.J. Brown at a later home game. Brown was to take part in Sunday night's pre-game recognition and first kick alongside his daughters.
Next on the docket for Chicago is a 3:10 p.m. road game at the Missouri Comets on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Independence Events Center in Independence, Mo. The game includes a webcast accessible at MISL.net and Spanish-language online radio at LaMaquinaDeportiva.com. The Riot's next scheduled home game takes place at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, against the Omaha Vipers at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park. For tickets, visit www.ChicagoRiotSoccer.com or call 630-708-6284.
The Riot is coming off back-to-back games that resulted in a 17-6 loss at the Omaha Vipers on Friday and a 9-8 loss at the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday night. The Riot (0-4) still is in search of its first victory during this inaugural season, but the team has taken the early lead in three of its four games this year.
