San Jose Stealth News Release

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Stealth professional lacrosse team announced the signing of Tim Booth who will be making his National Lacrosse League (NLL) debut in January 2007. Booth is a former third round selection (26th overall) of the NLL's Rochester Knighthawks in 2003. Most recently he completed his first season with the Major Lacrosse League's San Francisco Dragons.

The five-foot-ten, 210-pound native of Waterloo, New York scored 17 points (10 goals including five two-pointers and two assists) in 12 games with the Dragons while winning 74 of 133 faceoffs (55.6%). Prior to coming to San Francisco, Booth spent three seasons with the Rochester Rattlers of the MLL where he won nearly 50% of his faceoffs (405/819) in 32 games while adding 12 goals. He was selected by San Francisco as the 47th player in the 2006 MLL Expansion Draft. Booth helped lead the expansion Dragons to the MLL's New Balance Championship Weekend, where they eventually lost in the semifinals to runner up Denver.

"Tim is a gritty two way player who will add a quality face-off man to our lineup, as well as providing solid defense and the ability to score goals" said Stealth Assistant General Manager Doug Locker. "Tim is a tough hard nosed athlete who we feel will do well in the NLL"

The 25-year-old Booth starred in lacrosse and football at Hobart College (NY) and is the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Nazareth College (NY). A two time first team All Patriot League selection, he helped Hobart to the Patriot League Championships and NCAA Tournament in 2000 and 2002. As a senior, he scored a career high 22 points (17 goals, five assists), while winning 146 of 261 faceoffs and collecting a team high 75 groundballs. He finished the season 12th in the nation in groundballs per game and 19th in the nation in faceoff winning percentage.

The National Lacrosse League is North America's professional indoor lacrosse league, featuring the best lacrosse players in the world. The league is entering its 21st season with thirteen teams playing in the major markets of the United States and Can ada. NLL teams play a 16-game schedule followed by the Champion's Cup Playoffs. The teams are: Arizona Sting, Buffalo Bandits, Calgary Roughnecks, Chicago Shamrox, Colorado Mammoth, Edmonton Rush, Minnesota Swarm, New York (name TBD), Philadelphia Wings, Portland LumberJax, Rochester Knighthawks, San Jose Stealth and Toronto Rock. Most NLL clubs are owned and/or operated by the National Hockey League (NHL) and/or National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and play in the same arenas used by those teams. Professional indoor lacrosse combines the physical play of hockey with the high scoring (average of 25 goals per game), fast pace and play-making style of basketball. It is played inside the confines of a NHL hockey rink, with glass and rink boards intact, while the playing surface consists of a green turf carpet laid down over the hockey ice.

The league has a national broadcasting agreement with VERSUS (formerly OLN) in 2007 featuring a live NLL game every Saturday night throughout the 2007 season, consisting of 16 weekly broadcasts.

Attendance is at an all-time high for the league with average attendance for the 2006 season at nearly 11,000 fans per game, with several games played in front of crowds in excess of 16,000 fans. The 2006 Championship Game aired live nationally on ESPN2. For more information, visit the official website of the National Lacrosse League at NLL.com.
