Tigers to Celebrate "Pi Day" March 14th

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers, Class-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are offering a special ticket promotion in celebration of this year's especially unique "Pi Day." Every year "Pi Day" falls on 3/14 (in celebration of the mathematical constant of 3.141592653...) but this year is a once in a lifetime "Pi Day", as the date falls on 3/14/15. This March 14th, the Dodd Stadium Box Office will open at 9:26:53 am for exactly 3 hours and 14 minutes, to sell tickets and food vouchers redeemable on Opening Night 2015, each for the special discounted price of $3.14. Plus those fans that come to the Dodd Stadium Box Office on 3/14 will receive a free slice of pizza pie. Opening Night for the Tigers' 2015 season is set for Friday, June 19th as the Tigers take on the Tri-City ValleyCats at 7:05 pm with fireworks after the game.

This special offer will be the first opportunity for fans to purchase an individual game ticket for Opening Night. Individual game tickets for all 38 home games will go on sale in early April. "This year is a very unique "Pi Day" so we decided to add to the fun by opening up and rewarding our fans for patiently waiting for baseball weather during a particularly harsh winter," said Tigers Vice President and General Manager Eric Knighton. "This is a fun promotion for our fans and gives them a unique and even more affordable opportunity to pack the house at Dodd Stadium. We look forward to sharing a slice of pizza pie with our fans on "Pi Day" and having the biggest Opening Night in Tigers' history on June 19th."

Fans interested in purchasing tickets can visit the Dodd Stadium Box Office, purchase tickets over the phone by calling (860) 887-7962, or visit cttigers.com to buy online on May 14th between 9:26:53 am and 12:40:53 pm. Adding to the fun, those purchasing tickets in person at the Dodd Stadium Box Office will receive a slice of pizza pie as part of the promotion (while supplies last).

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2015 season tickets, mini-plans, and team merchandise are now on sale! The front office and box office is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and can be accessed in person or by calling 860-887-7962.
