
Thunder To Kickoff Inaugural Monday Night Game

BOARDMAN, OH. -The Mahoning Valley Thunder's Inaugural Monday Night game kicks off at 6:30 pm, this Monday, May 5th. Doors at the Chevrolet Centre open at 5:30pm and tickets are still available at both the Chevrolet Centre Box Office and the Thunder Offices in Boardman.
Mahoning Valley welcomes East Division rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre. This is the second of three 2008 meetings between the teams and the first in Youngstown. The Pioneers previously defeated the Thunder 33-20 in Wilkes-Barre on April 11th. The Pioneers have won 18 of their last 21 games including four straight.
The 6:30 pm start is the earliest Mahoning Valley will take the field this season. Monday Night marks both "Salute the Military Night" and "Defend Youngstown Night" at the Chevrolet Centre. To salute the military, the Thunder will give one free ticket to any person who presents a valid military I.D. to either the Chevrolet Centre Box Office or the Thunder Office in Boardman. Fans attending the game in a Defend Youngstown tee shirt will receive $5 off their Thunder ticket. Any civil service, city or county employees attending the game will also receive $5 off their ticket. Fans may present a valid work I.D. or badge to receive the discount.
The Mahoning Valley Thunder returns home Monday, May 5th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre to host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the first Monday Night game in team history!
