BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Mahoning Valley Thunder are pleased to announce that the organization is the proud recipient of the 2007 af2 President's Award for best overall team operations and a number of other team excellence awards.
The coveted award was announced at the Awards Banquet on Friday, August 24th in Bossier City/Shreveport, LA as part of the ArenaCup8 festivities. Jerry Kurz (af2 President) and Tiffanie Worsham (VP, Business Development) presented the award to team owners/operators Dr. Michael Slyk and Mr. Tim Chesney with compliments on the quality execution and operation of the team's inaugural season.
Along with the 2007 President's Award, the Thunder Front Office was also honored with the af2's Best Publication award for the team's Media Guide, af2's Best Field award for Cortland Banks Field at the Chevrolet Center and for af2's Best Compliance Officer (Jeff Vrable, who works with the Operations Director on organizing off-field officials).
The Mahoning Valley Thunder closed out the 2007 Inaugural Season with three-straight home victories.
