Thunder Adds Three Returning Players To 2008 Roster

FRISCO, Tex. - Three more returnees from the Frisco Thunder's inaugural season -- linebacker/fullback Terrance Smith, offensive lineman Jeff White and defensive back James Herring -- have signed with the Intense Football League team, Head Coach Troy Esprit announced today.

In all, eight players from the 2007 team that went 8-6 and qualified for the playoffs, have committed to return.

"I like the balance of new faces and old," Esprit said. "The roster is shaping up quite nicely. It should be a very competitive battle for playing time."

Smith (6-0, 258) and Herring (6-1, 225) are both Texas A&M Commerce products. White played his college ball at Louisiana Lafayette. Smith scored three touchdowns in 12 games last season, White was a regular on the offensive line and Herring saw limited action in the defensive secondary.

A playoff team its expansion season, the Thunder hosts the opening game of the 2008 Intense Football League season on Saturday, March 1st at 6 p.m. against the San Angelo Stampede Express. All home games will be played in the Deja Blue Arena, located in the Frisco Dr Pepper StarCenter. Season and individual tickets are available now at 972-731-6968.
