Sacramento Republic FC News Release

Sacramento Republic FC struck first and often in Saturday's 3-1 win over Tacoma Defiance and Heart Health Park. The Indomitable Club celebrated individual milestones and a team effort in a win that kept Republic FC in the thick of the Pacific Division race.

Back on Target

Republic FC logged seven of its nine shots in the second half, including three of four on target. Maalique Foster led the way with three shots and one on target in his second start of the season, while Cameron Iwasa paced with two shots on target.

A Night of Firsts

Carlos Saldaña made his debut for the Indomitable Club on Saturday with three saves, while Emil Cuello recorded his first goal and assist for the Boys in Old Glory Red. Cuello found the back of the net for the first time since July 31 and logged his first assist since July 17 - both with San Antonio FC.

Scoring First and Often

The Indomitable Club held up its streak of not dropping points when scoring first on Saturday. Cam Iwasa's opening goal in the eighth minute made Saturday SRFC's 10th game scoring first in 2021, as the Boys in Old Glory Red improved to 6-0-4 when breaking through first.

Of those 10 matches of scoring first, Saturday marked the seventh multi-goal outing for SRFC.
