The Whitecaps announce exciting new elements for their Home Opener

VANCOUVER (Wednesday, April 30, 2003) - Whitecaps F.C. are pleased to launch their 2003 season on May 3rd vs. the Calgary Storm. This Opening Night is presented by Accent Inns, the Official Hotel of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Saturday night's home opener will kick off at 7:00 pm and the gates will open at 5:30pm. We think fans will be impressed with the 'new look' we have put on Swangard Stadium. We have been busy getting Swangard ready for the season and by adding to the off-field entertainment before during and after the game, we know that a Whitecaps game will soon be viewed as the best sports entertainment ticket in town for families to enjoy.
Also new for this season are Whitecaps Family Night - On every Saturday and Sunday game, Whitecaps fans will be able to purchase a Family Night Package for just $49! The package includes four game tickets, and two vouchers for McDonald's Kids Happy Meals.
As part of the Opening Night entertainment fans can arrive early, stay late and join the party!
The Fabulous Neurotics will kick things off at 5:30 pm
The Ache Brasil Carnival Parade will take to the concourse at 6:15 pm
Look up, waaaaay up at 6:45 pm to witness an AMAZING display by the BC Skydiving Demonstration Team
Burnaby's Mayor, Derek Corrigan will perform the ceremonial kickoff at 7:00pm
Then enjoy your Vancouver Whitecaps take on Canadian rival, the Calgary Storm
After the game, make sure the family stays for a post-game fireworks display
