Battle Creek Revolution News Release


Battle Creek, MI - The Battle Creek Revolution are proud to announce Todd McIlrath has been called up to the ECHL Idaho Steelheads. The Battle Creek Revolution are proud members of the All-American Hockey League and a proud affiliate of the Muskegon Lumber Jacks of the International Hockey League. Todd McIlrath has been a man among boys in the All-American Hockey League racking up 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points in 16 games averaging over 2 points per a game.

The Northville, MI player played his junior hockey in the United States Hockey League with one season with the Danville Wings and the Indianapolis Ice for two seasons. In the three seasons in the USHL he racked up 41 goals and 53 assists for a total of 94 points earning him a trip to college with the Bowling Green Falcons. In three seasons with the Falcons McIlrath scored 10 goals and 31 assists for 41 points before turning pro this season with the Battle Creek Revolution.

"The team is proud of the call up of Todd to Idaho and wish him the best with his new team," stated BC Revolution head coach, Bobby Clouston. "While our primary goal is to win a championship for the city of Battle Creek it is also my job to move these kids to the next level which should increase the motivation for our younger guys in the locker room."

McIlrath is the sixth time this season a Revolution player has received a call up to the next level. The Revolution players getting the call this season are Mason Cossette, Nick Williams, former player Justin Grevious, and Nick Schneider being called up twice and currently is on the Muskegon Lumber Jacks roster. McIlrath will join a familiar name to South West Michigan hockey fans as former Kalamazoo Wings player Marty Flichel is currently on the roster of the Steelheads.

The Revolution will be on the road for the next three games this weekend with the Futures Star Game in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Friday night against Evansville. The Revolution also will travel to the LC Walker Arena for back to back games against the Blizzard on Saturday and Sunday.
