Northern Exposure: Tornado hope to bury Avalanche this week - It won't be easy, but thanks to a 7-3 win on Saturday night in Fairbanks, the Texas Tornado head to Wasilla, Alaska this week with some much needed momentum to take on the Alaska Avalanche for three games this week. The series will open tonight against the Avalanche with face-off at 7:30pm Alaska time (10:30pm central). Fan can follow the game live using the Pointstreak Real-Time Scoring System. The Tornado will face the Avalanche again on Wednesday, December 6th and Saturday, December 9th, before returning back to Texas.

Last weekend, the Tornado split their games in Fairbanks against the Ice Dogs. The Tornado got the win on Saturday night thanks to four goals and an assist from veteran forward #11 Ryan Fuller, who turned in one of the more dominant performances of the season. Other goals came from #10 Julian Mikola, #14 Tom Brooks and #22 Brian Reagan. For the weekend, Fuller led the team in scoring with six points, which was followed by four points from #7 Nielsson Arcibal. The Tornado fell to the Ice Dogs this past Friday night, 4-2. The Tornado again had problems starting out the game, as Fairbanks scored three times in the 1st period to take a 3-0 lead. The Tornado responded well in the 2nd period, closing the gap to 3-2 with goals from #28 Mike Cifelli (his first career goal) and Fuller. However, it was not enough as Fairbanks closed the game out in the 3rd with a 5 on 3 power play goal. Tornado forwards #16 Adam Flink and #24 Paul Yovanic are eligible to return back to the line-up on Wednesday after serving their respective 4-game suspensions. #18 Brendan Brickley and #23 Stéphane Da Costa are out for another 3 weeks with lower body injuries and did not make the trip to Alaska. For fans wishing to welcome the Tornado home from their long trip to Alaska, the team will return to Frisco on Sunday, December 10th at approximately 3:00pm.
