Texas Brahmas Win 2009 Ray Miron President's Cup Championship

The Central Hockey League's (CHL) Ray Miron President's Cup Finals concluded on Wednesday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre with a 6-2 victory by the Texas Brahmas over the Colorado Eagles giving the Brahmas their first CHL Championship. Texas won the series four games to one and for Colorado, they lose in the finals for the second year in a row (fell in four games to Arizona last season).
Texas forward Jason Deitsch was named the 2009 CHL Playoff Most Valuable Player as he led the league in scoring during the post-season with 26 points (11-15=26). In the clinching Game Five, Deitsch scored a hat trick and had an assist earning first star honors.
Other notable performances for the Brahmas series win include forward Tyler Skworchinski who finished the playoffs with 13 goals and 20 points, Scott Sheppard who had 10 goals and 11 assists and goaltender Brett Jaeger who finished with a 12-4 record and a 2.20 goals against average.
