Sky Blue FC News Release

Somerset, N.J. (Wednesday, January 6, 2010) - The New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) Expo is on tap for this weekend, and Sky Blue FC announced today its heavy involvement in the convention. Following an awards banquet on Friday night that features midfielder Yael Averbuch as a keynote speaker, the exposition will take place on Saturday with a midday speech by midfielder Carli Lloyd highlighting a panel discussion of Sky Blue FC players, led by General Manager Gerry Marrone. Sky Blue FC head coach Pauliina Miettinen will also conduct a soccer clinic from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday that will be open to the public.

"Our partnership with New Jersey Youth Soccer is a key step in building an essential bond with the community and bringing value to both organizations," Marrone commented. "This weekend is a great kickoff to our work together. Sky Blue FC looks forward to being a part of educating and entertaining all those with our participation at both the Banquet and the Expo."

Sky Blue FC will also have a booth at the NJYS Expo, where the team will conduct raffles on both days for tickets and team merchandise. Sky Blue FC players and Miettinen will also be available at the booth for autographs and pictures. The team will also be bringing the WPS Championship Trophy presented by MedImmune to the event. Additionally, the coaching staff of the Sky Blue Soccer School, who will also be available at the booth, will be assisting in training at the KidZone and PlayZone at the Expo throughout the day on Saturday.

Sky Blue FC, whose team includes four New Jersey natives who also play on the U.S. National Team, announced a partnership with NJYS this past December. The Expo is the first formal event of the relationship, with further developments of the partnership being announced in the upcoming months.
