TCL Names Weekly Award Winners

Player of the Week
John Longoria, Victoria
Longoria captured his first TCL Player of the Week award with a robust .450 average (9-for-20) in six games. He drove in six runs, scored five more and reached base more than half the time he came to the plate (.522 on-base percentage). He performed best when it mattered, posting back-to-back 3-for-5 games against the Brazos Valley Bombers as the two teams jockey for a playoff position.
Pitcher of the Week
Alec Mills, Brazos Valley
Mills picked up his second TCL Pitcher of the Week award - his first outright - and extended the Bombers' streak to three straight pitching awards. He was outstanding against the East Texas Pump Jacks on July 27, striking out seven in seven scoreless innings. He allowed just five hits and two walks on the evening. Mills improved his ERA to 1.73, good for third in the TCL, and his 51 strikeouts are second in the league.
