Tarpons Add Height to Roster

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Tarpons announce wide receiver Carlos Singleton has been added to the 2012 roster.

Singleton (6'7, 225, Memphis) joins the Tarpons after spending time with the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL. Singleton, a graduate of the University of Memphis, finished his career leading the Tigers in all-time touchdown receptions (22). Starting 24 games from 2006 to 2009, Singleton pulled in 164 receptions for 2,365 yards. Singleton was held without a catch in only three games in his 48 appearances. Singleton was a two-time All-Conference USA honorable mention.

As a prep athlete, Singleton averaged 22.3 yards a reception as a senior at Haywood High. He was a two-year starter who totaled 26 catches for 580 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2004 and helped his squad to a 9-3 record and a second-round appearance in the state playoffs. Singleton was named first-team all-region and second-team All-West Tennessee. He was also selected as an honorable mention pick on the Associated Press All-State team and selected to play in the Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star Game. The Jackson Sun selected Singleton as the Male Athlete of the Year. He was a four-sport athlete who also lettered in basketball, baseball and track.
