Tampa Bay Vipers News Release
- The Vipers held the Dragons to 12 yards of total offense in the first quarter, the fewest yards allowed in an opening quarter of any game so far this season and second-fewest in any quarter overall (Week One, Defenders vs. Dragons - Seattle allowed 10 yards in the 4th Quarter).
- K Andrew Franks opened the game's scoring with a 36-yard field goal with 2:33 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
- Tampa Bay held Seattle to 41 yards of total offense in the first half, including just 10 yards of net passing yards...Seattle's 10 yards of net passing is the fewest of any team in a single half of football so far this season.
- The Vipers scored their first touchdown in team history when CB Tarvarus McFadden intercepted a pass from Seattle QB Brandon Silvers and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown with 12:18 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
- After recording zero sacks last week, the Tampa Bay defense recorded two on the day...DB Marcelis Branch recorded the first sack in team history when he wrapped up Seattle QB Brandon Silvers for a two-yard loss with 0:48 remaining in the 1st quarter...DB Robert Priester added a sack with 8:54 remaining in the 3rd quarter when he wrangled Silvers down for a seven-yard loss.
- The Vipers ran the ball effectively on the ground for the second straight week, crossing the 100-yard mark as a team again in Week Two...So far this season, Tampa Bay paces the XFL with 291 rushing yards as a team through Week Two's Saturday contests.
- For the second straight game, Tampa Bay outgained their opponent, this time by a total of 289 yards to 199 yards...Through Week Two's Saturday contests, the Vipers continue to lead the league in total offense (683) and total defense (425).
