SY Dawgs Defeat PA Rebellion on Walkoff Hit Kiki Stokes Photo by Jade Hewitt Courtesy of National Pro Fastpitch The Woodlands, TX (July 3, 2016) - The Dawgs faced the Rebellion for the second game of the weekend.
Monica Abbott was on fire in the circle against the Rebellion offense. The first three innings for the Rebellion were scoreless and Abbott had three strikeouts through the third. Rebellion pitcher Miranda Kramer held the Dawgs offense as well, but Dallas Escobedo entered the circle in the bottom of the fourth.
In the fourth inning, the Dawgs fought to put runs on the board. Emilee Koerner led off with a single to left field and Nerissa Myers laid down a sac bunt to move Koerner to second. Madison Shipman earned a walk and Christian Stokes followed with a shot up the middle in an attempt to score Koerner, but Koerner was thrown out at the plate (0-0).
The Dawgs continued their relentless pursuit in defeating the Rebellion in the bottom of the seventh. Taylore Fuller led the inning off with a single to left and advanced to second base on a wild pitch by Escobedo. Kiki Stokes followed with a shot up the middle to score Fuller from second base. The Dawgs defeated the Rebellion 0-1.
The Scrap Yard Dawgs will face the Akron Racers tomorrow and Tuesday at the Scrap Yard Complex.
