
SWB Yankees Sign Radio Deal

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced a five-year agreement with Bold Gold Media Group to be the radio broadcast home of all SWB Yankees games through the 2011 season on 'THE GAME SPORTSNETWORK" - the largest sports radio network in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Bold Gold Media Group will air all 144 regular season games, all post-season games and the Triple-A All-Star game on a four station network that includes flagship WICK 1400 AM (Scranton), WYCK 1340 AM (Wilkes-Barre), WPSN 1590 AM (Honesdale) and WFBS 1280 AM (Berwick). This expanded network will allow games to be heard over an 80 mile radius of Lackawanna County Stadium. In addition to the over-the-air broadcast, all games will be streamed over the internet at www.swbyankees.com.
All broadcasts will include a pre-game show and a post-game wrap up show. Bold Gold will also air a special 60 second Yankees report six days a week during the season at 8:20 a.m. on four high-powered FM stations in NEPA including WWRR 104.9, WYCY 105.3, WDNH 95.3 and WDNB 102.1. Together these stations reach from Scranton/Wilkes Barre all the way to Sullivan and Orange County, New York

The first broadcast will be on opening day, April 5 as the Yankees take on the Norfolk Tides at 7:00 p.m. Yankees broadcaster Kent Westling will be behind the microphone for his 19th season of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre baseball. The game will mark the debut of the Yankees as well as the new natural grass surface at Lackawanna County Stadium.
