
Swarm signs 11 players

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. â Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill announced today that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) club has signed G Mike Attwood, F Ryder Bateman, F Jayme Bryde, D Scott Campbell, F Ryan Cousins, D Travis Hill, D Teddy Jenner, G Andrew Leyshon, F Michael Longboat, D Shawn Nadelen and F Kerry Susheski to contracts.
· Attwood, 20 (10/9/84), collected 21 points (1-20=21) in 20 games with the St. Catharines Athletics of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse Association (OJLA) last year. The Swarm selected Attwood in the sixth round (55th overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
· Bateman, 24 (2/18/80), tallied 33 points (16-17=33) and 21 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Victoria Shamrocks of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) last year. Minnesota selected Bateman in the first round (6th overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
· Bryde, 26 (8/28/78), notched 50 points (25-25=50) and 47 penalty minutes in 20 games with the WLA's Maple Ridge Burrards last year. He has appeared in one career NLL game with Calgary in 2002 and tallied one goal and two penalty minutes.
· Campbell, 23 (10/23/81), recorded six points (3-3=6) and 35 penalty minutes in 14 games with the OLA's Brooklin Redmen. The Swarm selected Campbell in the second round (10th overall) of the 2004 NLL Entry Draft.
· Cousins, 23 (4/1/81), collected five points (2-3=5), 17 loose balls and 29 penalty minutes in 13 contests with the Arizona Sting last season. He has notched eight points (2-6=8), 43 penalty minutes and 119 loose balls in 37 career NLL contests during three seasons with Columbus and Arizona.
· Hill, 22 (6/30/82), appeared in one game with the OLA's St. Catharines Athletics last year and tallied one goal.
· Jenner, 25 (7/23/79), tallied nine points (4-5=9) and 36 loose balls in ten games with the Anaheim Storm last season. He has tallied 26 points (12-14=26) and 75 loose balls in 22 career NLL contests during three seasons with Rochester and Anaheim.
· Leyshon, 24 (10/24/80), posted a 7-2 record with a 10.49 goals against average (GAA) and a .762 save percentage in 12 games with the WLA's Burnaby Lakers last year. He has appeared in 32 career NLL contests during two seasons with Ottawa and posted a 0-7 record with a 15.70 GAA and a .738 save percentage.
· Longboat, 23 (8/17/81), recorded 58 points (30-28=58) and 22 penalty minutes in 18 games with the OLA's Six Nations Chiefs last season.
· Nadelen, 25 (4/16/79), collected ten points (1-9=10) and 67 loose balls in 11 games with the Philadelphia Wings last year. He has tallied 35 points (8-27=35) and 204 loose balls in 36 career NLL contests during three seasons with New Jersey and Philadelphia.
· Susheski, 25 (10/26/79), recorded seven points (4-3=7) and 13 penalty minutes in three games with the Buffalo Bandits last year. He has scored 60 points (31-29=60), 115 penalty minutes and 144 loose balls in 29 career NLL contests during three seasons with New Jersey and Buffalo. The Minnesota Swarm will host the Colorado Mammoth in a preseason game at Xcel Energy Center on Friday, December 10 at 7:30 PM. A limited number of remaining tickets will be released and available for fans at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office on Friday, December 10 immediately before the start of the game.
