NEW YORK â Attendance for the second week of the 2005 AFL season included four sellouts and averaged 13,965, making it the AFL's second-highest weekend of all time and the highest Week 2 ever.
The 13,965 average was up 16 percent vs. the 2004 season average (12,024) and 2005's two-week cumulative average of 12,940 is up eight percent vs. 2004's season average.
The Chicago Rush (16,036), the expansion Nashville Kats (16,537), the New York Dragons (14,925) and the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats (16,221) all recorded sell outs. Chicago and New York hosted games on Super Bowl Sunday.
