Jacksonville, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns (3-0) finished off a three-game sweep of the South Divisi on Championship Series with a dominating offensive attack in a 12-2 victory over the Birmingham Barons (0-3) before a crowd of 2,442 Sunday evening at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

The Suns advance to the best-of-five Southern League Championship Series against the North Division Champion Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) starting Tuesday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Suns reliever Jarrett Santos (1-0) picked up the victory, dealing four scoreless innings with three hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Santos picked up where Suns starter Brad Stone left off in the start of the game on Saturday as rain suspended play in the bottom of the first inning. Birmingham starter Matt Long (0-3) fell in the loss as he was charged with two unearned runs in the first inning.

Birmingham started the scoring in the first inning on Saturday when C.J. Retherford belted a first inning homerun off Stone for a 1-0 lead. With bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the inning, rain halted play.

When play resumed on Sunday the Suns broke the game open right away. With two out, Kevin Randel belted a single to right field to score two runs for a 2-1 lead.

Jacksonville added five runs with four consecutive two-out doubles in the second inning, opening a 7-1 advantage. Logan Morrison, Mike Stanton, Scott Cousins and Kevin Randel contributed the RBI in the frame against Barons reliever Justin Cassel.

In the fourth inning Morrison led off with another double and scored on a Scott Cousins groundout for an 8-1 lead. Matt Dominguez led off the Suns fifth inning with a double and later scored on a Bryan Petersen single for a 9-1 advantage.

The Barons added a second run in the sixth inning on a Jim Gallagher groundout RBI for a 9-2 score. Jacksonville finished the scoring with a three-run bottom of the sixth inning with an RBI double from Kevin Randel and two-run single from Lorenzo Scott for a 12-2 final.
