The Woodlands Strykers beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters, 4-2 on a warm night just outside of Houston, Texas.
The Cane Cutters trailed early in the contest, 2-0, but rallied back with RBI's from newcomer Spencer Goodwin in the 5th and Kyle Mendenhall in the 7th which tied the game up at 2 late in the contest.
The Strykers would regain the lead for good in the last of the 8th inning when Mitchel Bumann hit a two-run single to put Woodlands up 4-2.
The Cane Cutters will return home to Fabacher Field tomorrow for a two-game set against these same Strykers. It will also be UL Media Challenge and Student night at the ballpark. UL students can show their student ID to receive a $3 ticket and wear Ragin Cajuns gear to get $2 beers all night long. To go along with the festivities, former UL softball ace Christina Hamilton will be attempting to strike out the media stars of Acadiana in a special pregame event. Gates open at 6 at Fabacher Field.
