Strykers Comeback Falls Short as Team Falls 9-7 to Pump Jacks

The Woodlands Strykers opened a two game series in Kilgore against the East Texas Pump Jacks. The Pump Jacks withstood a rally from the Strykers but won the game 9-7. The two teams conclude their series in Kilgore tomorrow evening.

Nolan Holland started on the mound for the Strykers. He pitched 3.2 innings recording three strikeouts before Greg Jakusik came in for the final 4.1 innings. Jakusik recorded six strikeouts and gave up two runs while scattering six hits.

Zach Davis scored the lone run in the first inning. He got on with a single and then scored on a Dirk Masters sac fly. Two runs would score in the fifth inning. Bobby Schuman and Kevin Santana would get on with singles and then scored on a two run single from Connor Kalisky. Two more runs would score in the sixth inning. Robert Heep and Adrian Lopez would get on with singles and then come home on a fielder's choice by Zach Davis in which the ball was mishandled by the Pump Jacks. The final two runs would come across in the ninth inning. Santana would get on with a double. Masters would follow him with a walk. Kalisky would then come to the plate and hit a RBI double scoring Santana. Masters would score on a single by Taylor Taska. Kalisky finished the night 2-4 with two RBIs.

The Strykers will return home this weekend to face the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Come out on Saturday(August 3rd) for Bark In The Park.
