Strykers Add Two Columbia Pitchers
February 20, 2015 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Woodlands Strykers News Release
The Woodlands Strykers are proud to announce the signing of a duo of pitchers from Columbia University. Two right handed pitchers Bryce Barr and Garrett Roberts.
Bryce Barr is a native out of Austin, Texas. Bryce is a 6'1'' freshman who went to Lake Travis High School. At Lake Travis Bryce was a three-year letter winner on the varsity baseball team. He was the captain his senior season and posted a 1.67 ERA on the mound. Bryce was a Texas Region Honorable Mention as a pitcher in 2014.
Garrett Roberts is a native out of Katy, Texas. He attended Seven Lakes High School where he was a varsity pitcher for four years. Garrett is 5'11'' and weighs 180 pounds. Garrett looks to bounce back from having Tommy John surgery last year as a freshman at Columbia.
"We are very excited to welcome Bryce and Garrett to the Strykers. They will both be good additions to our staff," says Owner Ramiro Lozano.
The Strykers will kick off their 2015 campaign with a six game home stand starting on Thursday May 28th @ 7:05 pm against the two-time defending TCL champion Brazos Valley Bombers, followed by two games against the East Texas Pump Jacks and the Acadiana Cane Cutters, respectively. For the Strykers season to be a success we need your help. We are looking for families that would like to become a "host family" and open up their homes for some of our players. There are only a few things that the players will need during their stay. They will need a bed and bathroom along with light meals before they head out to the park. Our players enjoy the gratitude of families opening their homes as they realize it makes their time with the Strykers more enjoyable. To find out more information about this exciting opportunity or to get your season tickets for the 2015 season, please contact John Villarreal at 832-922-0061 or javillarreal11@yahoo.com.
