
Storm's Skid Extends to Five Games

San Antonio, TX - The Tampa Bay Storm (7-9, 2-3) were defeated by the San Antonio Talons (9-7, 2-2) Saturday evening at the Alamodome, by a score of 42-68. The game saw Storm receiver Joe Hills break two Storm single-season records; points scored and receiving touchdowns.
The Storm offense was led by the combination of quarterback Randy Hippeard and wide receiver Joe Hills. Hills would have a record-setting night scoring 18 points, breaking the Storm single-season record for points scored with 18, putting him at 242 for the season. He hauled in three scores, breaking the single-season record for receiving touchdowns with 39 on the season. He also reeled in 126 receiving yards, putting him 81 yards shy of tying the Storm single-season record of 1,749.
Storm kick returner Michael Lindsey had a stellar night on special teams with eight kickoff returns for 185 yards. This was his sixth game of the season with 100+ kickoff return yards and 24th of his career. Storm receiver Justin Hilton also nabbed his first touchdown in a Storm uniform with a 45 yard pass from Hippeard. He would finish with three receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.
The Talons offense was led by quarterback Rohan Davey. He spread the ball around to all of his receivers, with his favorite being D.J. Stephens. Davey found Stephens 11 times for 184 yards and five touchdowns. The Talons defense also got in on the scoring action as defensive back Jamar Ransom returned an interception 20 yards for the score. San Antonio had three interceptions on the night. Former Storm defensive lineman Tim McGill would finish the night with a sack. The Talons had four sacks in the game.
The Tampa Bay Storm returns home to take on the Pittsburgh Power on "Fan Appreciation Night" at the Tampa Bay Times Forum this coming Saturday, July 20...Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM ET.
