While it is always tough cutting down to the final roster, one position that will make it tough on the staff is the receiving corps. The group put on a show, scoring on several possessions.

"We're all out here for one thing and that is to make plays," said wide receiver Julius Gregory. "If we follow the plan and continue to get better each day, there's no telling where this team can go."

The receivers were making plays all day long, seeming to score at will on red zone drills. With the red zone being an area that needed to see improvement, the offense was up for the challenge. It was as though something had clicked and the team was ready to go.

"This is what we have to keep doing if we want to win," said wide receiver Tristan Purifoy. "We're all out here making plays as a team and that's the way to play if you want to be successful."

The ability for the offense to move the ball could be attributed to increased film study and note taking. Classroom sessions can at times separate one team from the rest of the pack.

"We're all students of the game," said quarterback Jonathan Bane. "The coaches have us watching film and taking notes. If we don't have those sessions, there's no point in going out on the field. The classroom is where we learn and then it's up to us as a team to execute on the field."

With just four days left, the players will have to study film and execute plays with precision if they want to make the final 24-man roster.

Coach's Perspective: "Today was a very good day," said head coach Lawrence Samuels. "If we continue to work hard, there will be no stopping us once the season rolls around."

Player Spotlight: Jonathan Bane comes to the Storm after spending the past two seasons with the Richmond Raiders of the Professional Indoor Football League. The Temple, Texas native played four seasons at Dakota Wesleyan University, becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in program history. Over the course of his collegiate career, Bane completed 744-of-1,360 passes for 9,224 yards and 83 yards. Today, Bane showed why the Storm acquired him during the offseason. Bane shined during red zone drills, completing several passes for touchdowns. His ability to read the defense and protect the ball is what stood out, as he put the ball in spots only his receivers could reach. Look for Bane to continue to progress throughout the season.
