Storm to host open tryout December 15

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm will host their final open tryout for the 2007 AFL Season on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Skyway Park in Tampa, Florida.

This one-day tryout is open to all interested players. All players will receive the opportunity to sign a professional contract with the Storm. In 2007 three players, John Capel, Hank Edwards and Khalid Naziruddin earned an invitation to training camp from open tryouts. Naziruddin went on to earn Storm Rookie of the Year honors for the 2007 season. In addition, af2 teams and coaches from other indoor leagues will scout the camp.

The camp will be directed by Tim Marcum, Head Coach and General Manager. Interested players are encouraged to pre-register at www.tampabaystorm.com. Pre-registration ends Friday December 12 at noon.

Players can also register at Skyway Park the morning of the tryouts. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., is $50 for players who pre-register online and $60 for those registering the day of the event. Payment must be by cash or certified check.

Skyway Park is located at 3901 George Rd., Tampa 33634. From I - 275 take the Memorial Highway exit (#39 Westbound, #39B Eastbound) and travel north. Memorial merges into Veterans Expressway, take exit 2b Independence Parkway heading west. From Independence take a left at George Road. The entrance to Skyway Park is on the left side of the road.
