Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm will host Building Industry Night when they take on the New Orleans VooDoo Saturday, April 7 at the St. Pete Times Forum. A minimum of 25 percent of the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity.
The donation will be split between the local Tampa Bay chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the local New Orleans chapter. The Tampa Bay Storm welcomes the New Orleans VooDoo return to the Arena Football League and are proud to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
"New Orleans is a city with great tradition," said Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum. "However there is still a lot of work needed to restore the city of New Orleans. While we are proud to see the VooDoo return to action we are more excited about the opportunity to help the city."
New Orleans, a city renowned for sports championships, is the site of the 2007 ArenaBowl. It has hosted nine Super Bowls, four Final Fours and 71 Sugar Bowls. This is the first team championship to take place in New Orleans since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The game will take place at New Orleans Arena on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. CT.
