Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm will host a watch party for football fans throughout the Bay Area on Friday, August 20, at Rock-N-Sports Bar & Bistro located in Centro Ybor as the five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm attempt to claim their sixth ArenaBowl title against the Spokane Shock. Fans may take advantage of free parking in the West Lot of the St. Pete Times Forum and are also welcome to ride the trolley for a small fee to Centro Ybor to attend the event. All are encouraged to arrive at Rock-N-Sports at 7 p.m., with the kickoff of ArenaBowl XXIII between the American and National Conference champions beginning at 8 p.m. on NFL Network.

One hour prior to the start of the game, fans may begin to enjoy great food and drink specials, including $2 drafts and 15% off of each customer's total food bill at the end of the night. All individuals in attendance will also be able to watch the game in the company of Storm players and the Storm dancers, along with fellow fans. As an additional bonus, Storm fans will receive an exclusive chance to see the team's 2010 American Conference Champions Trophy, which will be on display for photo opportunities. Those in attendance will also earn the chance to win great prizes and score free Tampa Bay Storm giveaway items.

In his 15th season with the Tampa Bay Storm, the AFL's winningest head coach, the legendary Tim Marcum, led the Storm to 11 regular season victories and two post-season victories, earning his team the chance to claim its first ArenaBowl championship since 2003. On August 14, Tampa Bay defeated their in-state foe, the Orlando Predators, in the third installment of the storied "War On I-4" rivalry to claim a berth in Friday's title game. The contest marks the first time in history that the Storm will take on the Spokane Shock, who at 13-3, compiled the AFL's best regular season record and defeated the Milwaukee Iron for the National Conference crown. Spokane is led by head coach and former player Rob Keefe, who currently serves as the only player to win championships in both the af2 and AFL.
