
Storm Sign DB Jonathan Ordway

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has signed defensive back Jonathan Ordway, announced Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum.
"We got a little banged up in the defensive backfield against the Jacksonville Sharks," said Marcum. "Jonathan is a great player who played for us in the past and we are glad to have him back in a Storm uniform."
Ordway (5-foot-11, 190 lbs., Boston College), a six-year veteran of the Arena Football League, spent four seasons in Tampa Bay (2003-2006) prior to playing two seasons with the Chicago Rush (2007-2008). He also played two seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Ottawa Renegades (2003-04).
During his time with the Rush he accumulated 96.0 tackles, 28 pass breakups, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 26 games. In his four seasons with the Storm he recorded 226.5 tackles, 69 pass breakups, eight interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumbles recovery on defense. He also returned 23 kickoffs for 404 yards and accumulated 520 all-purpose yards in 44 games.
He played in 20 games during his two seasons with the Renegades notching 70 tackles and three interceptions. Ordway began his professional football career in 2001 as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Detroit Lions.
A four-year letter winner at Boston College, he recorded 154 tackles in 29 career games. He earned the McGillis Award as the team's top defensive back his senior season. Ordway was also a member of the Boston College track team and earned all-Big East and all-New England honors.
A local product of the Tampa Bay community, Ordway prepped at Armwood High School.
