
Storm Puts the "W" in Washington, Defeats Valor 41-33

Tampa Bay Storm News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Tampa Bay Storm (4-1) defeated the Washington Valor (1-3) by a score of 41-33 in front of 8,420 fans at Verizon Center. This was the first meeting in series history between these two franchises. The Storm has improved its record to 4-1, its best record since the 2001 season.
The turning point came with 37.1 seconds left in regulation when Storm defensive back Paul Stephens recovered a Valor fumble. Stephens now has three fumble recoveries in two games.
The Storm was led by quarterback Randy Hippeard. He finished the night completing 20-of-31 passes for 205 yards and five touchdowns. He would also rush 11 times for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Hippeard's top target of the night was Joe Hills who caught nine passes for 85 yards and three touchdowns. Hills now has a receiving touchdown in 73 consecutive regular season games.
The Valor was led by quarterback Erik Meyer who finished the night with 183 yards and five touchdowns on 17-of-29 passing.
Tampa Bay will host the Valor on Saturday, May 20th on "Comic Book Night," presented by Shriners Hospital For Children. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
