Tampa Bay - The Tampa Bay Storm participated in the Great American Teach-In this morning, taking over the Frost and Robles Elementary Schools. The Storm coaching staff and players took the time to speak to the students, teaching them about the importance of staying in school and getting an education.

"It was great to see the Storm out here today," said an official from Frost Elementary. "At this age these kids need role models and this was a wonderful opportunity for the students to see some of their favorite athletes."

The team sat with the students and discussed many different topics. However, the main message was that in order to succeed in life, you must stay in school. The players went over the importance of getting good grades and listening to the teachers.

"Right now these children are in third grade," said Storm defensive lineman Jammie Kirlew. "This is where it begins. Now is the time for them to start training their minds and begin the process of achieving their dreams."

Storm mac linebacker Rodney Beamon echoed those sentiments, drawing upon his own dreams when he was a child.

"When I was their age I had a dream to be a professional football player," said Beamon. "I listened to my teachers and worked hard in school to achieve that goal."

The students were also able to ask questions about school and football.

"We love talking to the kids," said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels. "They are at an age where they can take everything in and hopefully we left a lasting impression."
