(LAKE ELSINORE, CA) - It was the third straight close game in a row, but for the second straight night Lake Elsinore broke a late-inning tie to earn the win. A couple of stolen bases, an error, and a double in the 7th inning gave the Storm two runs and a 5-3 victory Saturday night in Lake Elsinore.

The JetHawks (1-2) once again had several chances to score. However, they were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 runners on base. The Storm (2-1) got the clutch hits off JetHawk relievers in the 7th. With one out, Mark Rosen (0-1) gave up a single and a walk. Storm outfielder Yordany Ramirez scored on a throwing error by catcher Wilkin Castillo. Esmerling Vasquez entered the game to relieve Rosen, but gave up an RBI double to Peter Ciofrone giving the Storm the win.

The JetHawks opened the game with a pair of runs, one off a Castillo single. Castillo was also involved in a strange play after his hit. With Castillo at first and Carlos Gonzalez at third with two outs, JetHawks manager put on a play for Castillo to try to steal second base. While Storm catcher Colt Morton's throw was in plenty of time to get the out at second, Castillo managed to avoid the tag and reach safely. To add insult to injury, Gonzalez scored from third to top off a rare double steal of second base and home plate.

JetHawks starter Greg Smith went five innings, allowing three runs on just four hits and including seven strike outs. The Storm loaded the bases with no one out in the 2nd inning, but Smith, with great command of his fastball and curveball, struck out the side to get out of the jam.

The JetHawks, who hadn't recorded an error or home run in the first two games of the season, got their first of each Saturday night. Gonzalez and Castillo were each charged with throwing errors, while Jereme Milons hit the first JetHawks home run of 2006, a solo blast in the 4th.

The season's opening series concludes Saturday in Lake Elsinore with another battle of lefties as the JetHawks send Kellen Raab to the mound to face the Storm's Cesar Ramos. The scheduled start time is 2:05, with the Burns Pharmacy JetHawks Pre-Game Show on Magic 1340 beginning at 1:50.

The JetHawks home opener will be Friday, April 14 against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Season tickets and mini plan packages are currently available for the 2006 season and can be ordered by calling the JetHawks at (661) 726-5400 or by logging on to the team website at www.jethawks.com
