Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA, FL - Despite an outstanding effort by Tampa Bay quarterback Adam Kennedy and receiver T.T. Toliver, the Philadelphia Soul scored late in the fourth quarter to defeat the Storm, 56-51, Saturday afternoon before 8,406 at Amalie Arena.

Veteran quarterback Dan Radabaugh passed for five touchdowns as the Soul (12-3) outscored the Storm (1-13) in winning their third game in a row.

Kennedy ended with 17 of 26 passing for 241 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for 22 yards in his finest overall showing. Ings caught one pass for 40 yard score and ran a kickoff back for 57 yards. Toliver had a game-high 12 catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns

The Storm's Prechae Rodriguez had 119 yards receiving on eight receptions and a pair of touchdowns. Kendrick Ings had a rushing touchdown, a 40-yard reception score and ran back a kickoff 57 yards.

Kennedy came in for starter Jason Boltus who was shaken up after a vicious "horse collar" tackle by Philadelphia's Joe Goolsby near the end of the first period. The former Arkansas State standout finished the first half going 8-for-8, 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Storm came from a 28-13 deficit in the second period to take its first lead of the game in the third quarter.

Philly turned the ball over on a failed 4th down conversion on its own 17 yard line. Kennedy then ran 13 yards to set up a four-yard touchdown run by Ings. A two-point pass attempt failed but the Storm led, 37-35, as time ran out in the third quarter.

The Storm plays host to Fan Appreciation night against the Portland Steel at 5 p.m. Saturday and then travels to Jacksonville for a regular-season finale Sunday, July 31, against the Sharks before the AFL playoffs begin.
