TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce the return of wide receiver T.T. Toliver, along with the acquisition of wide receiver Julius Gregory, announced Storm vice president Jeff Gooch.
"T.T. is a reliable veteran that brings stability to the locker room," said Gooch. "He has playmaking ability and the team will rely on his experience both on and off the field."
Toliver (5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Bethune-Cookman) enters his 13th season in the AFL and seventh in a Storm uniform. The Daytona Beach native began his professional career with the Storm in 2002, helping the team win a championship in ArenaBowl XVII. Toliver returned to the Storm last season after spending six seasons with South Division rival the Orlando Predators. In 12 games played for the Storm in 2014, Toliver had 69 receptions for 812 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Toliver ranks ninth all-time in Storm history with 257 receptions, eighth all-time with 3,049 receiving yards, and third all-time with 2,510 kickoff return yards. Over his career, he is ranked fifth all-time in League history with 977 receptions. His 12,655 receiving yards ranks fifth all-time and he ranks seventh all-time with 242 receiving touchdowns.
Gregory (6-foot-4, 225 lbs., Shaw University) enters his first season in the AFL in a Storm uniform. He played in 32 games for the Bears and caught 76 passes for 1,342 yards and 19 touchdowns. Gregory also rushed 22 times for 119 yards. He has experience playing in various indoor leagues.
"Julius is a welcome addition to our receiving corp.," said Gooch. "He will provide a big target for our quarterbacks. We are looking forward to seeing him compete in training camp."
