Storm coaches to take part in football reality show

TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm Head Coach and Director of Football Operations TIM MARCUM and Assistant Coach / Director of Player Personnel DAVE EWART are taking part in the ARENA GRIDIRON CHALLENGE, a 13-episode reality show that will form a brand new Arena2 Football franchise.

The ARENA GRIDIRON CHALLENGE announced today it will hold free tryout camps for candidates who want to participate in the football reality show. The first of six tryout camps will begin at HEB's Pennington Field on Tuesday, July 18th with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. Using a reality show format, the program will air 13 episodes and the finalists will be given contracts to play on a team in the af2.

Following the tryout camps, 72 athletes drawn from six cities in the southeast will hold camp in Tampa. The remaining athletes will be cut down to two teams of 20 men. One team will be coached by former two-time AFC coach of the year RON MEYER, his long time NFL assistant STEVE SIDWELL and Storm Quarterback PAT O'HARA. The other team will be coached by Orlando Predator head coach and AFL Hall-of-Fame quarterback JAY GRUDEN, seven-time World Champion and AFL Hall-of-Fame coach MARCUM and EWART.

Every male and female athlete who has ever dreamed of making it to the next level will watch intently as at the end of every episode a coach will deliver the dream-shattering statement, "You're going home." The challenge will conclude with the two teams playing a game against each other. The best players from both teams will combine to form an expansion af2 team.

All candidates interested should bring these necessary items to their respective workout: turf shoes, shorts and a t-shirt. Workouts will last around two hours. The workout schedule and dates are listed below:
