Storm Announces Opening Roster

TAMPA BAY - With the end of training camp, the Tampa Bay Storm has announced the opening 24-man roster for its 26th season, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

"While cut day is tough on every team, it is a necessary process," said Gooch. "We believe the staff put together a 24-man roster that is best suited for going into the upcoming Tampa Bay Storm season."

The 24-man roster is comprised of 14 veterans, nine of which return to the Storm from the previous season. One player joined the team late last season and has made the squad for 2013. The remaining 10 players on the roster are in their first season in the Arena Football League.

One player, DL Tremaine Johnson, was placed on the reserve list.

The Storm reassigned OL Jamar Bass, OL Wondell Rutledge, OL Thed Watson, WR Jason Chery, DL James Morehead, and DB Bryan Evans.

The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm was awarded the 2012 AFL Support Staff of the Year. The 2013 season kicks off at home Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 PM versus South Division rival Jacksonville Sharks.
