Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm acquired kicker Geoff Boyer and defensive back James Harrell, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

"We are happy to have both of these players join us this season," said Gooch. "Geoff brings an added dimension to the kicking game that will benefit the team, while James brings additional veteran leadership both on and off the field."

Boyer (5-foot-10, 170 lbs., Middle Tennessee State) enters his second season in the Arena Football League and first in a Storm uniform. He spent part of the 2012 season with the Pittsburgh Power, and in a game versus the Milwaukee Mustangs completed a 2-point drop kick. Prior to turning pro, Boyer played at Middle Tennessee State.

Harrell (5-foot-10, 195 lbs., Arkansas-Pine Bluff) enters his second season with the Tampa Bay Storm. The Tampa native started in five games last season, recording 29 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception returned for a touchdown. Prior to turning pro Harrell played collegiately for Arkansas - Pine Bluff. He was a first team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference selection in 2011.

The team reassigned kicker Carlos Lopez. In three games played, Lopez converted 18-of-23 extra point attempts.

The team reassigned defensive lineman Rashad Dukes. Dukes did not see any action.
