TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Julius Gregory has been activated from injured reserve announced Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
"Julius is a difference maker on the field," said Gooch. "He was one of our top receivers last year and we're looking forward to seeing him replicate that performance this season."
Gregory (6-foot-4, 225 lbs., Shaw) appeared in the Storm's season opener versus the Orlando Predators on April 1. He would go on to catch four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown before going down with an injury.
"It's a blessing to be back with the team," said Gregory. "I'm looking forward to getting back out on the field and helping the team in any way that I can."
Gregory, an early 2015 Arena Football League Rookie of the Year candidate, had a stellar first season. The second-year veteran finished his rookie campaign second on the team with 98 catches for 1,036 yards and 27 touchdowns. His 1,036 receiving yards are the fifth most yards posted by a rookie in Storm history and his 27 receiving touchdowns are the fourth most by a rookie in Storm history.
For his career, Gregory has started in 12-of-17 games, catching 112 passes for 1,070 yards and 28 touchdowns.
The team also activated fullback Isaiah Shelton from inactive reserve.
The team placed jack linebacker Rick-J Hill on injured reserve.
The team placed offensive lineman Tyler Moore and wide receiver Tristan Purifoy on reassignment.
