Tampa Bay Storm WR/KR Gerald Young on Opening Night

TAMPA BAY - Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Gerald Young has been activated from injured reserve announced Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
"Gerald is a big part of our offense and special teams," said Gooch. "He can take over a game at any time and we value his ability to do so."
Young (5-foot-10, 170 lbs., Charleston Southern) appeared in three games for the Storm before going down with injury. In three games, the Naples native caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. The third-year veteran is a threat on special teams, compiling 11 kick returns for 212 yards, including a 103 yard performance versus the Cleveland Gladiators in week 2.
Young began his career in 2014 with the Orlando Predators, appearing in 11 games. He would go on to play the 2015 season with the Las Vegas Outlaws. While with the Outlaws, Young set a League single-game record for missed field goal returns, with two for 106 yards and two touchdowns versus the Arizona Rattlers. For his career, Young has three missed field goal returns, all returned for touchdowns.
The team reassigned wide receiver Tristan Purifoy.
