Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired quarterback Michael German, a participant in the team's November tryout, announced team vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
"Michael has the tools necessary to succeed in the Arena Football League," said Gooch. "After the tryout, we reviewed the film and saw that he could compete at this level. We're looking forward to seeing him in training camp."
German (6-foot-3, 235 lbs., Tennessee State) enters his rookie season with the Storm. The Pompano Beach native attended the Storm's most recent tryout this past November.
"The open tryout is a great opportunity for participants to live out their dreams of becoming a professional football player," said head coach Ron James. "They also give us the chance to find those diamonds in the rough. You never know who you might find at a tryout, so they can be very rewarding for the player and the team."
German played collegiately at Tennessee State. He started in 32-of-38 games for the Tigers, completing 655-of-1,145 passes for 8,664 yards and 65 touchdowns. German also added 10 scores on the ground on 115 rushing attempts.
