Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm acquired offensive lineman Byron Isom, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
"Byron has the quality that we look for in players," said Gooch. "He comes from a winning culture and we believe that he has the right attitude to succeed at this level."
Isom (6-foot-3, 300 lbs., Auburn) enters his first season in the Arena Football League with the Tampa Bay Storm. He started in 32-of-37 games for the Tigers seeing action at the left and right guard positions. The national champion (2010) helped lead Auburn to a number one ranking in the Southeastern Conference in the rushing offense category during its 2010 campaign. Isom earned All-SEC Second Team honors for his performance during his senior year.
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play for the Storm," said Isom. "I want to help bring another ArenaBowl Championship to Tampa Bay."
The Jonesboro, Georgia native began his professional career with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League, having signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2011.
