TRAVERSE CITY - The Janesville Jets tallied a pair of third period goals in an otherwise equiangular affair on Saturday evening at Centre ICE Arena, taking home a 2-0 shutout victory over the host Traverse City North Stars in the finale of a two-game series.

After two scoreless frames that featured just 24 combined shots on goal, Connor McBride (8:04) and Jordan Bancroft (14:17) potted third period markers for Janesville (10-0-1).

"I thought we played hard," said Traverse City head coach Chad Fournier. "It was a better effort than (Friday) night, a better team game. We didn't get enough shots on the net, but they (Janesville) blocked a ton of shots all weekend. They did a good job of getting in the shooting lanes, and their goalkeeper made some key saves when it did get through."

Kyle Laslo (Fenton, MI/Osoyoos KIJHL) made 18 saves for the North Stars (5-4-3) in his 11th start of the season. He has surrendered two or fewer goals in seven of those starts. Jets keeper Tony Kujava penned his fourth shutout of 2011-12.

"It is frustrating not to win, but the effort was there," Fournier assessed. "We worked hard, we played our system - if we go that hard and execute like we did, we'll win more games than we'll lose this year. Some credit also has to go to Janesville. Their record speaks for itself."

The North Stars will hit the road for the next four games before returning to Centre ICE on Nov. 18-19, visiting Michigan on Friday and Port Huron on Nov. 9 to start the away stretch.
