(Huntsville, AL) - The Huntsville Stars have teamed up with SJP (Steve Jarnicki Productions) and WTKI to handle the 2014 broadcasting duties for the Huntsville Stars.

Jarnicki comes to the Huntsville Stars having recently completed his second season as the lead radio play-by-play voice of the Florence Freedom. During baseball's off-season Jarnicki provides the play-by-play for high school football games seen on two different TV networks in Cincinnati and throughout Ohio. He brings eight years of play-by-play experience in eight different sports - both on radio and TV - to the Stars. In addition to the Florence Freedom Jarnicki has been the broadcaster for the Sioux City Explorers, the University of Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky University.

SJP - Jarnicki's production company - negotiated the deal with the Stars and WTKI to bring play-by-play experience back to the airwaves.

"We are definitely excited to have the Stars back on WTKI," says station owner and GM Fred Holland. "Since this is where the franchise was originally introduced we look forward to continuing our long and storied history."

Jarnicki began his career by announcing games as a college student at Bowling Green State University. He did play-by-play on the student radio station for BGSU football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball games. Jarnicki is a 2006 graduate of BGSU with a degree in Interpersonal Communications.

"I'm extremely excited to be able to make the jump into affiliated baseball. It's been a lifelong goal to one day broadcast Major League Baseball. The Stars and the Southern League have a great tradition with a countless amount of players having played in Huntsville that has gone on to make an enormous impact in the major leagues. I look forward to describing all 140 games to the Huntsville community and further extending the interest of the Stars and the Brewers organizations."

"In his eight years of broadcasting, Steve brings a wealth of experience to the table in both the broadcasting and business side of the operation. We are stoked to be back with the folks at WTKI for our 30th season of Huntsville Stars baseball, and we have Steve to thank for making that happen!" said Stars GM Buck Rogers.
