MILFORD, CT – The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) welcomes back a former team to the fold as the St. Louis Skyhawks return for the 2004 season. The Skyhawks were last a member of the USBL in 2002, when they finished with a 10-20 record and were eliminated in the Opening Round of the Post-Season Festival.

Prominent St. Louis businessmen Michael and Steven Roberts will again own the Skyhawks. Demetrious Johnson will be heading up the management team as the Skyhawks President and General Manager. Johnson brings valuable experience to the Skyhawks, as he is a former Head Coach and General Manager of the River City Renegades of the NIFL and a seven-year veteran of the NFL with the Detroit Lions. Joining the management side of the Skyhawks is Public/Media Relations Director Jeff Lohse.

Local high school coaching legend Floyd Irons will return to the sidelines for the Skyhawks. Irons replaced Lionel Hollins as the Head Coach in June of 2002. Irons is the longtime coach of the Vashon Wolverines, owning eight state titles, a 756-139 record, and was named The National Sporting Magazine 2003 Coach of the Year.

"Our goal is to solidify St. Louis' position as the best sports city in the country and we want our fans to see future NBA players in action. We hope to see every family in St. Louis at our games," stated Skyhawk owner Michael Roberts.

"We are excited to have the Skyhawks return to the USBL. St. Louis is a vital market for the USBL and their return is very important. Michael Roberts is very prominent part of the St. Louis community and to have him and the Skyhawks back on board strengthens the USBL immensely," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.
