SportsCenter Features Miles Thompson's Game-Winner on Top 10 Plays

Minnesota Swarm News Release

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm rookie forward Miles Thompson was featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays Saturday night after scoring an unbelievable falling down, behind-the-back game-winning goal against the Edmonton Rush at Rexall Place. During the play, Thompson managed to score with his back facing the net and was also being held onto by a defender.

Thompson's goal - his third of the night -- gave the Swarm an 11-10 lead with 3:21 remaining in the fourth quarter; Minnesota went on to win 14-10. The Swarm (1-1) at one point trailed 9-3 late in the third quarter but managed to finish the game on an 11-1 run to secure their first win of the 2015 season. Thompson has recorded hat tricks in both contests this season and leads the Swarm in scoring.

"I got cross-checked and he kind of held me so I was falling down backwards," Thompson told MNSwarm.com after the game in regards to his game-winning goal. "First of all I was trying to shoot, but I knew someone was behind the net because that was the offense we were running at the time. So I knew it was going to score or go high over the net for a teammate."
