Southern League Unveils New Web Site
Published on March 23, 2007 under Southern League (SL1) News Release
MARIETTA, GA - Amid the excitement of Opening Day being right around the corner, the Southern League has launched a newly designed web site powered and maintained by Major League Baseball Advanced Media.
The Southern League's home page address of www.southernleague.com remains the same as in years past, but the design, content and navigational features have improved dramatically. In addition to the customary statistical, historical, standings and league scheduling information, the new site provides content from MiLB.com along with Southern League staples like Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, Topps Player of the Month and Southern Bases, the official newsletter of the Southern League. All Southern League releases, like this one, appear on the front page along with news from around the minor leagues.
The new site also can direct users to the ticket purchasing links from each of our 10 clubs and houses an online shop that will include Southern League souvenirs like media guides, Top Prospect sets, shirts and caps when they become available. The shop also makes ordering novelty items from minor and major league clubs easy and efficient.
As a member of the MLBAM network, the Southern League web site contains a drop-down menu that can link users to every other league in Minor League Baseball. At the top right are icons for each of our clubs, which - if clicked - will bring users to the team home page.
Opening Day in the Southern League is slated for April 5, but please be sure to visit our new web site in the meantime!
