
Southern League announces staff change

MARIETTA, GA â President Don Mincher announced today the hiring of Jason Risley as Media Coordinator for the Southern League. Jason will be working under the direct supervision of Lori Webb, the Vice President â Operations of the Southern League, at the league's headquarters in Marietta, GA.
President Mincher states, "I look forward to another exciting season of baseball, and welcome Jason to our staff. I have every confidence that this fully capable, well-qualified young man will be a valuable asset to our office and the Southern League."
Jason Risley is a 2003 graduate of Virginia Tech's Communications program. During the summer of 2004, Jason worked for the Atlanta Braves rookie level Appalachian League affiliate, the Danville Braves, as a Media Relations Trainee. Prior to his experience with the Braves, Jason worked for the New York Yankees Media Relations Department during the 2004 Spring Training in Tampa, FL. While attending Virginia Tech, he interned with the school's Sports Information Department and worked for the Pulaski Blue Jays, an Appalachian League baseball team, during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Jason is originally from Hampton, VA.
