MACON, GA--The South Coast League of Professional Baseball's Macon, Georgia franchise is searching for an identity and they'd like your help. The club is holding a "Name the Team" contest during the month of March to determine that identity. The Macon Professional Baseball Club is asking all Macon and central Georgia residents to submit their ideas for a team name by logging on to www.maconbaseball.com and filling out the "name the team" online survey. "The South Coast League wants the citizens of Macon and Central Georgia to be involved with the development of this franchise and there is no better way to kick that off than to have them participate in a name the team contest," stated league chief executive officer Jamie Toole.

The contest will run from March 1st through March 21st and the unveiling of the club's name and logo will take place at an April event yet to be determined. The winning entrant will receive two 2007 season tickets, Macon Baseball Merchandise and the right to present the 2007 Opening Day lineup Card to the umpire prior to the start of the game.

"Macon a Name for Ourselves" entry forms will also be distributed to the Bibb County Public School System as well as participating local businesses, and can be returned via fax, mail, or in person at Luther Williams Field.

The Macon club will be joined by five other charter franchises to begin South Coast League play in the spring of 2007.
